Quality Improvement (QI) Training & Support
In partnership with Hollingsworth Consulting, PHSCO's Quality Improvement (QI) Training & Support program equips teams with Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Green Belt training and certification, as well as Black Belt coaching: tools that translate directly into measurable improvements and support PHAB accreditation and reaccreditation requirements.
In 2025, the Public Health Services Council of Ohio (PHSCO) and the Ohio Public Health Institute (OPHI) collaborated to provide a pilot quality improvement training and coaching services in Guernsey and Clark County. PHSCO provided two rounds of Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Green Belt training, coaching, and support to a total of 16 local health departments. A Certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt provided in-person training sessions, with Certified Black Belt coaches providing coaching, mentoring, and virtual and/or in-person support services between sessions. Individuals that completed the training and a QI project received Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Green Belt certification.
The pilot was a roaring success and led to the expansion of the program to other health departments throughout Ohio.
