Accreditation Support
The public health accreditation process is a rigorous evaluation undertaken by public health agencies to assess and improve their performance, quality, and accountability.
Local health departments contract with PHSCO for expert help with accreditation and re-accreditation. Our goal is to ensure that public health agencies are effectively fulfilling their mission to protect and promote the health of the community.
Accreditation typically involves several steps.

Preparation
Register in e-PHAB and pay Readiness & Training fees.

Readiness Assessment & Training
Complete the Readiness Assessment and assigned training.

Application
Health department applies for Initial Accreditation.

Documentation
Applicants select and upload documentation demonstrating compliance with standards and measures to e-PHAB for review.

Review
Review of documentation that was submitted, Site Visit, and the accompanying Site Visit Report.

Accreditation Decision
PHAB Accreditation Committee will review and determine the accreditation status of applicant.
07
Continuous Improvement
Health departments must apply for reaccreditation as their accreditation status approaches expiration, involving a new application, potential training, and participation in the full accreditation process.
